China starts Baihetan Hydro Project

China operationalised the two units of goliath Baihetan hydropower plant, which is the biggest hydro project under development worldwide on June 28, 2021.

About Baihetan Hydro Project

This hydro project has been worked by China Three Gorges Corporation which is the administrator of world’s biggest hydropower plant.

This three Gorges Dam is situated on the line between southwestern areas of Yunnan and Sichuan.

It was developed on upstream part of Yangtze River called Jinsha.

All out introduced limit of the venture is 16 million kilowatts.

Hydropower station is outfitted with 16 hydro-producing units. Every unit have a limit of 1 million kilowatts. This is the biggest single-unit limit around the world.

Yangtze River
