- During the event “GI and Beyond, Virasat Se Vikas Tak” in New Delhi The traditional Gharchola saree from Gujarat has been awarded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag.
- These sarees are known for their intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and the use of zari work.
- Gujarat now self -praise 27 GI-certified items, among them 23 goes to handicrafts sector.
