Mizoram has been declared India’s first fully literate state, boasting a literacy rate of 98.2%.In June 2024, Ladakh became the first fully literate administrative unit, and now Mizoram has become the first fully literate Indian state. The formal declaration, made by Chief Minister Lalduhoma in Aizawl on May 20, 2025.
